As a nonlinear optical material, lithium niobate crystal has a wide range of applications. It is called a universal optoelectronic material. It is widely used for its excellent nonlinear optical effect, electro-optic effect, piezoelectric effect and photorefractive effect. Laser electro-optical Q-switching components, laser frequency doublers, optical switches, optical parametric amplifiers, high-frequency broadband filters and ultra-large-capacity storage devices, integrated optical modulator series and military, civilian fields have a wide range of uses, while lithium niobate (LN) crystals have excellent piezoelectric, electro-optic, acousto-optic, and nonlinear properties. It has a wide range of applications in the military and civilian fields. With the development of optoelectronic technology, the application of LN crystals in national defense technology has attracted more and more attention. LN crystal is also a good piezoelectric crystal, which can be used to make low- and medium-frequency SAW filters, high-power and high-temperature ultrasonic transducers.


Lithium tantalate is a new type of optoelectronic material developed and industrialized with the rapid development of communications and information industries in recent years, and it has also played a certain role in the development of my country's information industry. In 2012, the value added of my country’s electronic information manufacturing industry above designated size increased by 12.1%, 2.1% higher than the industrial average of the same period; the growth rate of revenue, profit and tax was 2.0, 0.9 and 9.9% higher than the industrial average, respectively.
